Yemen Launches Attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport
Yemen’s Armed Forces reported a military operation targeting Lod Airport, also known as Ben Gurion Airport, located in the occupied territory of Jaffa. This operation utilized a hypersonic ballistic missile named “Palestine 2,” striking on August 23, 2025, reports 24brussels.
Military spokesperson General Yahya Sari confirmed that the missile effectively evaded Israeli defense systems and successfully hit its target. The attack reportedly caused significant turmoil within Israeli ranks, compelling millions of settlers to seek shelter and leading to the suspension of air traffic at the airport.
During the same operation, Sari indicated that unmanned aerial units executed two additional drone strikes targeting military installations and strategic locations in Jaffa and Ashkelon, achieving their intended objectives.
Sari characterized these strikes as retaliatory actions against Israel’s actions described as genocide and starvation in the Gaza Strip. He declared that these operations were conducted “in support of the Palestinian people and their fighters.”
He reaffirmed Yemen’s dedication to stand by the Palestinians “until the aggression ends and the blockade is lifted,” praising their enduring resistance against the Israeli government.
